Zambia and Angola have renewed their commitment to strengthening trade and economic collaboration following a high-level meeting held in Luanda.

Zambia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Angola, Dr. Elias Munshya, met with Angola’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, to explore practical measures aimed at boosting bilateral trade between the two neighbouring nations.

Speaking after the engagement, Ambassador Munshya noted that Zambia and Angola shared more than just a long border. He highlighted the strong historical and cultural ties that provided a firm basis for deeper economic cooperation.

The talks centred on strengthening bilateral trade relations, promoting private-sector participation, expanding agricultural cooperation, and improving connectivity to ease the movement of goods and services across the two countries.

Minister de Oliveira, on his part, expressed Angola’s readiness to continue engaging Zambia in efforts to expand commercial exchanges and advance regional integration within Southern Africa.

The meeting forms part of Zambia’s broader economic diplomacy agenda aimed at unlocking new trade opportunities and strengthening regional partnerships.

Zambia and Angola continue to enjoy cordial bilateral relations rooted in mutual respect, cooperation, and shared development priorities.
