Arsenal powered into the FA Cup fifth round with a dominant 4–0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners, competing on multiple fronts this season, named a strong starting XI and entered the tie as heavy favourites. Wigan, meanwhile, made the trip from EFL League One as clear underdogs, sitting near the bottom of the table and recently undergoing a managerial change in hopes of sparking a turnaround.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal wasted no time asserting control, taking the lead in the 11th minute through Noni Madueke, who finished clinically after slick interplay in the final third, drawing a roar from the home crowd.

Just seven minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage. Gabriel Martinelli struck in the 18th minute, converting a sharp attacking move topped off by a perfectly measured assist that left Wigan scrambling.

The pressure continued to mount, and in the 23rd minute Wigan defender Jack Hunt inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, making it 3–0 and sending the Arsenal faithful into full celebration.

Arsenal were relentless, and by the 27th minute the match was effectively over. Gabriel Jesus lifted a deft finish over the goalkeeper to complete a blistering first-half performance and put his side four goals clear.

The second half saw Arsenal manage proceedings with calm efficiency—rotating the squad, protecting their lead and allowing Wigan few chances to respond—comfortably booking their place in the next round.
