The Zambia Police Service has dismissed reports that a man in Chingola caused men’s private parts to disappear, calling the claims unfounded.
Police Spokesperson, Godfrey Chilabi, said a 61-year-old suspect was arrested on March 14, 2026, after allegedly tapping men on the shoulder.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Lusaka, Chilabi said five complainants reported feeling a strange sensation and believed their private parts had vanished following contact with the man.
“A thorough investigation, including a voluntary check of the complainants, confirmed there was no physical harm or evidence to support the allegations,” he said.

Chilabi added that the suspect was released after authorities found no suspicious items in his possession.
He urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, stressing that mob justice remains illegal.
“The police service encourages citizens to continue reporting incidents through established legal channels,” he said.
