Access Bank wins big at Euromoney Awards

Access Bank Plc has received 16 honours at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, including Best Bank awards in Zambia, The Gambia and Sierra Leone, the lender said on Monday.

In a statement, the bank said the awards also recognised its performance in small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) banking in Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia, sustainable finance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) leadership in Rwanda and Zambia, and digital banking in Cameroon.

It also said the bank received awards for corporate responsibility in Angola, Botswana and Nigeria, and customer experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya.

According to the statement, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence assess financial institutions on criteria including performance, innovation, leadership, governance, customer service and strategic execution.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Roosevelt Ogbonna, said the awards reflected the support of the bank’s customers, employees and partners.

“These awards are a tribute to the trust our customers place in us, the dedication of our employees and the strength of the communities and markets we serve,” Ogbonna said.
