Access Bank Zambia says it is considering renewing its sponsorship of ZESCO United after investing K3million kwacha in the club last season, as the two sides prepare for the 2026 Transitional League.
The bank, which has partnered with the club for close to a decade, unveiled its 2026 playing kits in Lusaka on Thursday.
Access Bank Zambia Managing Director, Iheanyi Nwogu, said the bank’s latest investment was intended to support the club beyond branding, while signalling the possibility of extending the partnership.
“The new kits being unveiled today form part of bank’s K3 million sponsorship for last season. Our investment was never simply about putting our logo on a shirt. We want our support to help equip the team to compete and create value for the Club, its players and supporters,” Nwogu said.
He said the partnership had been built on shared values and trust, but challenged the club to improve its performance after what he described as a difficult season.
“My challenge to Team Ya Ziko today is to rediscover that winning mentality. Regain your position among the very best. Give your supporters something to celebrate and give our sports journalists plenty of winning stories to write,” Nwogu said.

ZESCO United Board Chairperson, Patricia Musiya, said the partnership provided the club with greater confidence in planning and improving its operations.
“Today is about presenting a symbol of partnership, identity and belief in the future of the Club,” Musiya said.
She said the club wanted the partnership to generate benefits beyond football by supporting engagement with supporters and communities.
The is one of Zambia’s most successful clubs, with nine MTN Super League titles, seven ABSA Cup titles and nine appearances in the CAF Champions League, according to the club.
The partnership between the bank and the club has lasted close to a decade, making it one of the longer-running corporate sponsorship arrangements in Zambian football.
