Kevin De Bruyne’s first-half goal proved decisive as Manchester City edged Wolves 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium to move up to third in the Premier League table.

Wolves started brightly, showing confidence with two early chances.

In a match reported by Sky Sports, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde narrowly overhit a pass to Marshall Munetsi with the goal at his mercy, before Rayan Ait-Nouri struck the post.

But their wastefulness was punished. After Andre lost possession, Jeremy Doku broke forward and set up De Bruyne, who calmly slotted home in what was his penultimate appearance in front of the home fans.

Matheus Cunha nearly found an equaliser in the second half, but City were spared by the post once again.

From there, the hosts controlled the game and secured a fourth consecutive league victory, strengthening their hold on a Champions League spot.
