State House has vehemently denied that President Hichilema last week sent Mafinga Member of Parliament, Robert Chabinga, on a special operation in South Africa to secure the remains of late former President Edgar Lungu by any means possible.
Meanwhile, Chabinga said the content which went viral this week suggesting his involvement in a government conspiracy in the late President Lungu’s burial saga is a product of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Chabinga claims the voice in the leaked audio was not his, and warned that generating such material was a crime.
In the audio, Chabinga was heard explaining how he was sent on an errand to South Africa allegedly by President Hakainde Hichilema on a special operation in South Africa to secure the remains of Lungu.
In the said audio, a voice believed to be that of Chabinga was heard in a conversation with another voice believed to be that of Community Development and Social Services Minister, Doreen Mwamba.
The Mafinga lawmaker was reportedly heard telling someone purported to be Mwamba how he missed 12 calls from President Hichilema and 30 calls from his alleged assistant on the material day before departure.
He said the missed calls were only returned about 02:30hours after losing sleep and seeing that both President Hichilema and his Assistant were still online.
“After nayakunganda nalinaka sana ifyo nabikile ama phone ku don’t disturb. My sister ba boss bayambile ukutuma Kuma 23:20hours, Friday ayambile ukutuma 23:40hrs. Bamwebele ba boss ati get hold of him. My sister ine nindala ba tumina nakuli body guard wandi ukumweba ati iwee ba boss bone epobali but obviously nabalala.thats how I slept. Naisabuka 02:30hrs utulo twapwa. Naisaikata phone nasanga ba boss 12 missed calls, Friday 30 missed calls, I said this is strange, chinshi chachitika,” Chabinga was allegedly heard explaining.
He said he later woke up and went to inquire from the security officers outside his house on whether there was a car that came to look for him but that everyone responded in the negative.
Chabinga purportedly narrated how he met some PF officials on a plane among whom was Luapula Constituency lawmaker Augustine Katotobwe as he was heading to South Africa to execute the said operation.
He also reportedly said at the Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, that he could not use the same exit lounge with the said officials and had to pretend to be connecting to Cape Town to meet his sick nephew.
In the audio, Chabinga was allegedly heard telling the minister that the Judges in South Africa can only rule in favour of the Zambian government if they were bribed and this would make the chances of the Lungu family slim to appeal against the ruling.
“Initially nachilafwaya ukujoina case as Leader of the Opposition but nachayafye imingalato shimbi. Back in Zambia the next move my sister you and me naba boss tupange abantu uyumulungu through Charity bachite demonstrate muleumfwa. Ba judge bakuno bakapanga ruling based on the outcry in Zambia to support the Attorney General so abantu babako pa street, bamachinga nama placards naku Copperbelt, Lusaka, Eastern you get the point. Tulefwaya body isekuno ifwe bakabe namufitenge fya PF,” Chabinga allegedly said.
When asked if the Judge could fail to intervene through the government to government arrangement, Chabinga reportedly responded saying: “my sister apa one Judge afwile ukulya because the laws, ama laws you muno yaliba weak ngachaisa pamfwa, family yalikwatishapo amaka pamfwa than boma. So Judge kuti aisa rulinga in their favour so that’s the possibility we need to look at.”
The audio quoted him as saying that the judge would look at the merits and demerits especially that Lungu was a former Head of State.
“So there are two things judge ngarulinga in favour of government tabachite appeal balya, ngabachita appeal ninshi baikoba, so ifyo tuchitele twachita, Judge afwile akwateko ka pressure, elyo futi no kulya ba judge. My sister mu South Africa ba Judge Kulya after all ngapanga mistake olo bachita appeal ninshi fipita.”
However following netizens outburst over the audio and its conents, Chabinga took to social media to write:
“I have noticed the AI audio mimicking me ; This is an offence and contrary to the Cyber Security Act, and I have since reported the matter to the police and asked lawyers to start preparing for litigation against all those circulating it .
I want to warn Emmanuel Mwamba and his minions like history teacher Sishuwa Sisishuwa that they will not be out of the country for a long time- the long arm of the law is reaching them soon where they are; soon the law will catch up with them and international enforcement institutions are slowly closing in for them.”
