The Ministry of Agriculture has launched the agriculture 2022-2026 strategic plan under the theme, ‘A smart and value-centered ministry ensuring food, nutrition income security.’

Acting Minister of Agriculture, Makoza Chikote, said the launch of the 2022-2026 strategic plan showed that government through the Ministry of Agriculture was moving in the right direction.

Chikote added that the success of the strategic plan once released would secure the country’s income security and create jobs.

Speaking during the launch in Lusaka on Tuesday, Chikote disclosed that the strategic plan was aligned to the vision of the UPND led government and further advised officers in the ministry to understand the party’s manifesto.

Despite the delay in launching the strategic, Chikote noted that government through his Ministry managed to implement strong extension services to achieve productivity.

Further, the Minister stressed that the strategic plan would help improve coordination of a smart and value centered Ministry and service delivery.

“I am happy with the theories in the document but let’s implement them,” he said.
