Harvest Group dreams film village, as company plays host to Nollywood legend, Patience Ozokwor

Harvest Group of Companies Limited on Monday hosted renowned Nigerian actress and Nollywood legend, Madam Patience Ozokwor, at its corporate headquarters in Lusaka, Zambia.

Welcoming Ozokwor, Group Managing Director, Very Reverend Adaoha Ugo-Ngadi described her as a cultural icon whose impact reaches beyond the borders of Africa.

She said, among others, “Nigeria and, indeed, Africa, is proud of what you are doing, and have done to tell the authentic African story. Through you, and the efforts of many others in Africa’s movie industry, our continent is increasingly becoming the pride of the world.”

She added that the company’s vision aligned greatly with the African dream, one in which conglomerates would emerge from within Africa to impact the rest of the world. Harvest Group, she said, was already on this path, with its various business interests in Oil and Gas, Hospitality, Transportation and Logistics employing thousands of Africans.

She also hinted that the Group was planning an integrated film village in Zambia which is designed to create international linkages and promote the movie industry.

“Our dream is to build on the shared heritage between Nigeria and Zambia, and we will do all that is possible to sync Nigeria’s movie industry with that of Zambia,” she said.

Ozokwor, widely known as Mama G, expressed delight at the warm reception accorded her and commended Harvest Group’s commitment to empowering Africans across multiple sectors of the economy. She said among others, “I am honoured to be here, and to see a Nigerian company impacting Zambia and the rest of Africa.

Ozokwo, who is in Zambia for a month-long movie shoot, was later treated to sumptuous meals at foremost African restaurant, Labambam Place, a member of the Harvest Group.

Joining the Group Managing Director at the reception in honour of Ozokwor were Sir Ugochukwu Ikoro Ngadi, Chairman of Harvest Group, and Mr Chimezie Ezima, Chief Finance Officer.

With Mama G on her visit to Harvest Group were Mrs Chinyere Epelle of Nigeria High Commission and Veronica Hachipuka of Basali Media.
