Tottenham’s wait for a first Premier League goal of the season goes on after Roberto de Zerbi’s side were held to a 0-0 home draw by Everton.
Spurs have now failed to score in any of their opening four league matches — over 400 minutes of football — and again struggled to create clear-cut chances.
Their best opportunity came in the fifth minute when Jan Paul van Hecke volleyed over from a wide free-kick delivered by Andy Robertson at the back post, reports BBC.
Everton were marginally the better team and came closest in the 50th minute. Thierno Barry’s close-range header was superbly blocked by the face of Spurs goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.

Kinsky was nearly costly in the 65th minute when he gave the ball away to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with a sloppy pass out. He recovered well, however, to block the midfielder’s finish with his leg.
The result leaves Tottenham 17th in the table with just two points, one place and one point above the relegation zone.
Everton, meanwhile, move up to seventh and remain unbeaten after four games.
Pressure is mounting on De Zerbi, who is still searching for a breakthrough in front of goal, while Everton will take confidence from another solid defensive display on the road.
