Police begin hunt for two men who reportedly raped pupil in Copperbelt’s  Chililabombwe area

Police in Chililabombwe have launched a manhunt for two unknown men for rape of a 16  year-old grade 11 pupil.

This happened when the juvenile was on her way  from school where she went for sports day on Thursday around 19:00 hours at the old park in Kamenza township.

Copperbelt Police Chief Peacewell Mweemba said this in a statement on Friday that the  victim  who is a  grade 11 pupil aged 16 was allegedly raped by a man of the same area who was assisted by his friend in holding the victim as the other committed the crime.

“A 16-year-old grade 11 pupil of Chililabombwe has allegedly been raped while on her way from school where she went for sports day,”he said.

Mweemba said the matter was reported by the victim’s aunty.

Brief facts were that the victim left school around 19:00 hours and was heading home when she spotted two men in an old park.

“Two men grabbed the victim and dragged her into the bush where one of the men raped her as his friend held her by force to prevent her from escaping,” he said.

Mweemba said the victim was able to identify the suspect and said she sustained a painful private part, painful abdomen and bruises on the left hand and right thigh.
