The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) has with immediate effect withdrawn all batches of Anaconda S*x Booster Coffee from the market.
ZAMRA Director General, Makomani Siyanga said the decision followed a laboratory analysis which revealed that the product contains undeclared Sildenafil Citrate — a prescription-only medicine.
In a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday, Siyanga said Anaconda S*x Booster Coffee had been falsely labelled as containing only herbal ingredients and claimed to have no side effects.
“Sildenafil Citrate is a Phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men, but only on prescription by qualified medical personnel,” he explained.

He warned that the undeclared inclusion of Sildenafil in the product poses serious health risks, especially to individuals with pre-existing medical conditions for which the drug is contraindicated.
“This may lead to severe adverse drug reactions including heart problems, heart attack, or even death,” Siyanga cautioned.
He added that the product is unregistered, largely smuggled into the country, and often sold in unauthorized outlets such as grocery stores and bars.
“If you are in possession of this product, please do not use it. All members of the public should quarantine the product and return it to their suppliers for collection and safe disposal,” Siyanga advised.
