The second season of The Icon Zambia came to a spectacular close at Ciela Resort, where Lusaka’s representative, Tasha Nyambe, was crowned the winner after a thrilling and closely contested finale.
This year’s competition began with nationwide auditions that drew over 300 hopefuls from four cities — Livingstone, Lusaka, Kitwe, and Kasama. After weeks of performances and eliminations, the competition narrowed down to the top five finalists: Mawi, Katende, Farah, Tasha Nyambe, and Mweembe.
The grand finale featured three performance rounds, each raising the stakes for the contestants.
Katende was the first to be eliminated through a public vote in the opening round, followed by Mweembe in the second.
In the final round, the top three — Mawi, Farah, and Tasha Nyambe — performed their original songs, captivating both the judges and audience.
After the final public vote, Tasha Nyambe emerged victorious, securing the coveted title of The Icon Zambia Season Two Winner.
“Thank you for opening your hearts to my music. I really appreciate it,” said an emotional Nyambe, moments after her win.
Rapper Farah took the runner-up position, while Mawi finished in third place.
As the grand prize winner, Tasha Nyambe walked away with an impressive package that includes a brand-new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, K250,000 in cash, a house, a trip to Paris, a scholarship, health insurance for her and her family, and a recording contract.
The season finale marked a new milestone for The Icon Zambia, further cementing the show’s reputation as a leading platform for discovering and celebrating the country’s musical talent.
