Trial stalls in case involving Kasanda’s wife who is accused of assaulting husband’s lover

Trial in which businessman, Shadrick Kasanda’s wife is accused of assaulting her husband’s alleged lover, failed to take off, Wednesday.

This is because the accused, Lauren Rhaphaelle’s lawyer was not before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court.

Magistrate Mbuywana Sinvula adjourned the matter to December 11,2023.

The accused is facing a charge of assault occassioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 248 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

It was alleged on August 9, 2023, that the accused did assault Rumbidizai Chibanda, thereby, occassioning her actual bodily harm.

The incident is alleged to have occurred at Lusaka Correctional facility, when both women went to visit Kasanda, who was in detention on a charge of espionage.
