Yango supports Zambians with free breast cancer & health screening

Lusaka, 3rd November, 2023 – International tech company Yango, has marked the celebration of cancer awareness month with a free breast cancer and health screening for Zambians.

This move was in partnership with the Rotary Club of Maluba as well as other well meaning corporate institutions. The free screening took place at the Makeni Shopping Mall in Lusaka on 21st and 22nd of October, 2023.

It included breast, cervical and prostate cancer screening for Yango partners, partner drivers, their female relations and all Zambians.

Yango donated $1000 to the Rotary Club of Maluba who worked closely with Breakthrough Cancer Trust and Teal Sisters Foundation to run Breast and Cervical cancer Awareness and Screening services on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd at Makeni Mall.

Speaking during the handover of the cheque, Yango country Manager Kabanda Chewe said Yango remains committed to ensuring improved access to good and quality health services for its partner drivers,riders and Zambians at large.

“We believe in community service and empowerment hence our participation in this programme. We are delighted to see many women and men taking advantage of the free breast, cervical and prostate cancer screening. It is very important to have ourselves checked as we may all be aware early detection of the disease can save a life,” Ms Chewe said.

Ms Chewe also encouraged all partner drivers, riders, partners and Zambians in general to create more awareness and frequently go for screening.

Upon receiving the cheque, Rotary Club of Maluba President Fidelis Kabwiri thanked Yango for the gesture ,saying it will go a long way in ensuring provision of cancer screening services thereby saving a life.

Mr Kabwiri said he was confident that with the support from Yango and other partners the club will achieve its goals and make a real impact on the lives of many.

Other partners include Pick and Pay, First National Bank, Proflight,Marie Stopes,DV’s Fitness Evolution and Ministry of Health among others.
