In celebration of International Driver’s Day this year, Yango Zambia, part of global tech company Yango Group, honored 100 invaluable contributions of its top-performing partner drivers.

The event took place on June 7th and aimed to recognize drivers who excelled in supply hours, trips, user ratings, and road safety over recent weeks.
Yango expressed appreciation for these drivers’ hard work and dedication in delivering exceptional service to passengers.

As part of the celebration, the drivers received care boxes containing Yango-branded merchandise and essential items for vehicle maintenance.
This gesture highlights Yango’s commitment to valuing the vital role these drivers play in the ride-hailing industry and their communities.

It also served as a tribute to the resilience, effort, and commitment demonstrated by Yango’s partner drivers in serving passengers.
Country Head for Yango Zambia, Kabanda Chewe underscored the importance of acknowledging the dedication and hard work of partner drivers and all stakeholders within the ride-hailing industry.

She said, ‘’At Yango, we believe that partner drivers are the cornerstone of the ride-hailing industry. Their dedication and commitment not only provide safe and dependable transportation for our passengers but also play a vital role in the growth of the entire ride-hailing ecosystem. Through our International Drivers Day celebrations, we aim to express our gratitude and appreciation for all they do.

The gifts are a small token of our acknowledgment and serve as a reminder of how much we value these drivers as essential partners in this journey. Together, we can continue to raise service standards within the industry and build a more sustainable future for all stakeholders.’’

Elliot Musonda, one of the top 100 partner drivers recognized, expressed his enthusiasm for the honor and extended his gratitude to Yango on behalf of his fellow drivers. He encouraged his fellow partner drivers to put in their best efforts and provide high-quality service to passengers while capitalizing on the income-generating opportunities presented by Yango.

He said “This recognition is not just a personal milestone for me, but a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our drivers. Let’s continue to support one another and strive for excellence in everything we do. Together, we can make Yango a leader in our industry and create a positive experience for every passenger.”

This celebration showcases Yango’s dedication to supporting partner drivers in Zambia, following initiatives such as International Women’s Day honoring female drivers and wives of partner drivers, Mother’s Day gifts for the mothers and wives of partner drivers and the introduction of complimentary trip insurance, and various other programs.
