Under the theme “Building the Future on Decades of Resilience,” the high-level forum will focus on accelerating trade, investment, and innovation across the African continent and strengthening Africa-Caribbean economic ties.
Set against the backdrop of global economic uncertainty and Africa’s growing push for self-reliant development, AAM2025 will feature an influential roster of speakers, including Nigerian President H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former President H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and H.E. Ambassador Albert Muchanga, African Union Commissioner for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade, Industry & Mining.

Over 80 countries are expected to be represented at this year’s meetings.
Speaking ahead of the forum, Professor Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank, stated:
“AAM2025 comes at a pivotal time for Africa. As the continent confronts global uncertainties, it does so with renewed resolve. Following the successful 31st edition in The Bahamas, we are back on African soil to catalyse practical action—building stronger institutions, strengthening trade integration, and unlocking Africa’s vast innovation potential. We thank H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for hosting and supporting this transformative platform.”
The event’s speaker lineup includes globally renowned scholars and business leaders, among them Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University’s Centre for Sustainable Development, Dr. Kishore Mahbubani from the National University of Singapore, Professor Ghulam Mufti of King’s College London, and former Jamaican Prime Minister P.J. Patterson.
Africa’s most prominent business figures, including Mr. Aliko Dangote, President & Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, and Mr. Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings, will also take centre stage, reflecting the strong participation of the private sector in shaping the continent’s future.
AAM2025 is expected to generate significant economic impact through trade and investment deals, including the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), launch of public-private partnerships, and strategic funding commitments.
Beyond trade and finance, AAM2025 is positioned as a platform for thought leadership and policy innovation. The gathering will mark the launch of several new Afreximbank initiatives aimed at boosting intra-African trade, youth entrepreneurship, green finance, and digital transformation.
