Kenneth Kaunda Peace Training Centre (KKPTC) Commandant, Brigadier General Telenkako Banda, has urged members of Zambia Battalion Eleven (ZAMBATT XI) to uphold professionalism, discipline, and moral integrity as they prepare for deployment to the Central African Republic.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service at KKPTC marking the successful completion of the Battalion’s pre-deployment training, Brig. Gen. Banda called on the troops to contribute meaningfully to restoring peace under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
“Our duty is not only to defend Zambia’s territorial integrity, but also to help restore peace beyond our borders. As you carry out this noble task, apply mission command and act with integrity,” Banda said.
He further urged the troops to reflect on the importance of faith and gratitude as they embark on their mission.

“As an Army, we have always sought God’s guidance and direction, and He has been faithful. The same God who sustained your predecessors will sustain you. Remain faithful to Him,” Banda said.
ZAMBATT XI Contingent Commander, Colonel Brian Mbao Ntanga, reaffirmed the Battalion’s readiness, stating that the soldiers were physically, mentally, spiritually, and professionally prepared.
“We are soldiers trained to face danger, maintain discipline, and act with precision. But above all, we are peacekeepers — guardians of human dignity and messengers of hope,” Col. Ntanga said.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the Army Ladies Association of Zambia (ALAZ) donated blankets and assorted children’s clothing to vulnerable communities in the Central African Republic.
ALAZ Patron, Gina Zyeele, said the gesture reflected the association’s commitment to humanitarian service beyond Zambia’s borders.
She also commended Zambian peacekeepers for their selfless dedication to protecting civilians.
Zambia Army Director General of Religious and Moral Services, Brigadier General (Rev.) Dr Shadreck Mwale, encouraged the troops to maintain their spiritual focus and moral conduct while abroad.
“Be good ambassadors of Zambia. Do the right thing — that will bring glory to our country and joy to your command,” he said.
ZAMBATT XI is scheduled to deploy to the Central African Republic under MINUSCA in the coming days.
