Luapula Province Minister, Nason Musonda, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to delivering infrastructure and essential services to all parts of Zambia, stating that no region would be left behind in the country’s development agenda.
Musonda said the government was driving a deliberate policy of inclusive development that prioritises access to education, healthcare, clean water, and security infrastructure in both urban and rural communities.
The Provincial Minister said this during the commissioning of the newly constructed Paul Mambilima Police Post in Mansa, according to statement issued on Monday.
He said this was just the beginning and that government would continue to build schools, hospitals, provide clean and safe drinking water, and work on roads, because that is what the people of Paul Mambilima and the rest of the country deserve.
“The government’s development agenda is founded on the principle of equity and fairness, stressing that residents of Paul Mambilima are just as Zambian as those in Lusaka and therefore equally entitled to decent infrastructure and access to national resources,” Musonda said.
He pointed out that the road in the area, which was in a deplorable state, would be worked on, adding that public funds belong to all Zambians and should benefit every citizen equally.
Musonda cited the increased Constituency Development Fund as a key example of how government was taking resources closer to the people.
“From K1.6 million before 2021, CDF allocations have increased to K36.1 million per constituency, enabling significant progress in water provision, education, health, and infrastructure,” he said.
Musonda urged communities, through their Ward Development Committees, to propose meaningful projects in the new financial year, which begins after the closing date of 30th August, 2025.
