At least 24 countries, including China, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and the Czech Republic, have confirmed their interest in participating in the upcoming 97th edition of the Agricultural and Commercial Show, scheduled to run from July 30 to August 4, 2025.

This year’s show will be held under the theme “Adapting to Climate Change” and serves as a build-up to the 100th edition of the annual event.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka on Friday, Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative Society of Zambia Limited President, Bernard Moonga, announced the expected international participation.

Other countries that have expressed interest include India, Italy, South Africa, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Japan, Malawi, the United Arab Emirates, Burundi, Rwanda, Angola, and Mozambique.

Moonga said there had been strong engagement from across the agricultural, fisheries, and livestock sectors, with participation from small, medium, and large-scale farmers, service providers, seed companies, consulting firms, regulators, and agricultural associations.

“The response reflects the government’s push for improved irrigation, mechanisation, and the promotion of climate-resilient crops,” Moonga said.

He added that the commercial sector would also be well represented, with participation from banking and finance, mining, energy, health, telecommunications, education, and fast-moving consumer goods companies.

“This year’s show will feature a livestock section with fisheries and animal exhibits, including an animal arena,” Moonga stated.

He noted that provincial small-scale farmers would showcase national productivity and individual efficiency in the newly renovated Andrew Hamaamba Hall.

Moonga further disclosed that the Society had received an overwhelming number of exhibitor applications, resulting in all indoor and open spaces being fully booked by both private and public institutions, as well as small and medium enterprises.
