Police arrest three over alleged theft of UPND-branded vehicle

Police on the Copperbelt have arrested three people in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle branded for the United Party for National Development (UPND) in Kafulafuta Constituency, authorities said on Wednesday.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Mwala Yuyi, said officers recovered the Ford Ranger after locating it at a hotel in Ndola.

Yuyi said the suspects were apprehended after the vehicle was reported stolen in Kafulafuta.

He added that three additional suspects — including individuals believed to be from the Zambia Army — were still on the run.

“Among those arrested, three other suspects, among them Zambia Army commandos, are on the run,” Yuyi said.

He said police were determined to trace and apprehend all individuals involved, adding that “no one is above the law.
