Woman arrested in connection with mob attack

Police have apprehended a young woman believed to have been involved in a widely circulated mob attack captured on video.

The suspect, identified as Grace Njapau, was seen in the footage wearing a distinctive black-and-white zebra-striped dress during the incident that has since drawn public concern.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Police Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Chilabi, the suspect was apprehended on March 23, 2026, around 19:00 hours in Mwinilunga District.

She is currently in police custody.

Chilabi confirmed that investigations into the incident were ongoing, with more arrests expected as the probe continues.

Police have assured the public that further updates will be provided as new developments emerge.
