Former Health Minister, Chitalu Chilufya, has been taken to the High Court by a Lusaka-based company seeking to recover K3.19 million arising from a failed property transaction in Lusaka.
According to a statement of claim filed by Kramerville Enterprise Limited, the dispute centres on Stand No. F/609/A/33 located on Poplar Avenue in Avondale.
The company alleges that Dr Chilufya induced it into purchasing the property by asserting that he owned it and could pass good title.

Court documents filed on March 30, 2026 indicate that the parties agreed on a purchase price of K3.5 million, which the company paid in full in two instalments in April and May 2025.
However, Kramerville claims that after receiving the full amount, Dr Chilufya allegedly disclosed that the property was actually registered under another individual’s name.
The company further alleges that efforts to resolve the issue revealed the property had been mortgaged — with a reported K2.5 million required to discharge it — making a transfer impossible unless the mortgage was settled.
The mortgage, allegedly registered in 2022, was not disclosed prior to the transaction.
“It became impossible to ignore the reality that the plaintiff had likely been drawn into a fraudulent and deceptive transaction,” the company stated in its claim.
Kramerville Enterprise Limited says it attempted multiple times to resolve the matter amicably, but without success.
The matter was later reported to the police, prompting partial repayments totalling K310,000, acknowledged in January 2026.
Despite these repayments, the company says Dr Chilufya has neither completed the sale nor refunded the remaining balance.
Kramerville is now demanding the outstanding K3.19 million, damages, and interest.
