ZCCM-IH expects to significantly increase its power and copper capacity over the next two years as it advances Maamba Phase II, reopens 28 Shaft at Luanshya and ramps up Mopani Copper Mines towards more than 200,000 tonnes of copper annually.
The company told shareholders that 2026 and 2027 would be key years for expanding capacity across its portfolio, with funding being channelled into major growth projects.

Maamba Phase II is expected to be completed in early 2027, while 28 Shaft at Luanshya is scheduled to reopen as Mopani increases production.
In a statement issued on Monday, ZCCM-IH Chief Executive Officer, Kakenenwa Muyangwa, said the company was also investing in energy, mineral processing and other assets.
“We are also funding the next phase of that growth, in energy through Maamba Phase II, Ever Great Energy, reviving Ndola Lime and value addition through Sino Great Chemicals and across the copper and gold portfolio,” Muyangwa said.
The company is expected to outline its broader growth plans when it launches its 10-year strategy at its Shareholder Open Day in November.
