Makebi Zulu Advocates, the lawyers for Catholic Priest, Andrew Mukosa, have indicated that their client will present himself to Copperbelt Province Police Division.

Zambia Monitor on Sunday reported that the police had withdrawn the police call-out.

Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, said the Police Command had withdrawn the police call-out while Ministry of Information and Media, Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, claimed the call-out was fake.

The legal team for Mukosa stated that there was no official communication to cancel or withdraw the call-out.

Makebi Zulu and Advocates informed the Police Command that they had been retained by the Lufwanyama Catholic Priest.

“Reference is made to the above captioned matter and to your notice to employer dated the 6th, instant requiring our client to attend before you for purposes of interviews relating to investigations at the Copperbelt Division Police headquarters’ second floor in room 55,” they said.

The lawyers indicated that their client would be in attendance for the purposes of the said interviews albeit not at 10:00 but at 11:30 to allow him as well as themselves travel to the Copperbelt.

They also demanded that all communication regarding the matter should be directed to them.

“Further note that all correspondence and communications relating to Fr. Chewe Mukosa in this matter should be directed to us,” they said.
