Chelsea staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final, becoming the first club to complete a clean sweep of all five European club trophies.

Trailing with just 25 minutes remaining in Wroclaw, Cole Palmer ignited the turnaround, delivering two pinpoint crosses from the right flank.

The first was headed in by Enzo Fernandez, and the second found Nicolas Jackson, who bundled the ball home at the near post just five minutes later.

According to the BBC, substitute Jadon Sancho extended the lead with a sublime curling finish, assisted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Moises Caicedo sealed the emphatic 4-1 win in injury time with a deflected strike from 20 yards.

Real Betis had taken a deserved lead in the first half through Abde Ezzalzouli, who finished confidently after being set up by the ever-impressive Isco.

The victory vindicated Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s decision to field his strongest starting XI for the first time in this season’s Conference League campaign.

By lifting the trophy, Chelsea became the first club to win all five UEFA competitions: the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Super Cup, and the now-defunct Cup Winners’ Cup.

The result also ended a long-standing streak — Chelsea became the first non-Spanish team to beat a Spanish side in a European final since 2002. Spanish teams had won the previous 27 finals in men’s European or international football involving one of their clubs.
