Copper Queens Coach, Bruce Mwape, has named a 38-member provisional squad for the Paris 2024 Olympics, scheduled to take place in France from July 24 to August 10, 2024.

The squad features the return of the Red Arrows quartet: Margaret Belemu, Mary Mulenga, Mary Wilombe, Ochumba Oseke Lubanji, and Hellen Mubanga, who were previously unavailable due to military training.

In addition to this quintet, Mwape has retained the majority of the team that played a crucial role in securing qualifications for both the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and the Paris 2024 Olympics, led by the United States-based captain Barbra Banda.

Zambia aims to improve on their previous Olympic outing as they face tough competition in Group B against the USA, Germany, and Australia.

The Copper Queens would kick off their campaign against the United States on July 25 at Nice Stadium.

They would then face the Matildas of Australia in their second match three days later.

Their group stage will conclude with a clash against arch-rivals Germany at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium on July 31.
