In a statement issued on Tuesday, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer, Kasaro Kasaro said the Commission was treating the matter with urgency and seriousness.

“The Commission is conducting a thorough review to identify the cause and implement corrective measures in line with electoral laws and procedures,” Kasaro stated.

He expressed regret over the error and assured stakeholders that the integrity of the electoral process remained the Commission’s top priority.

The by-election was prompted by the conviction of incumbent Member of Parliament Munir Zulu by a court of law.
