The Teaching Service Commission secretary , Lynette Walubita, says the institution has not issued any statement on the teacher’s recruitment process.

Walubita said the public should treat any information doing rounds on social media as ‘far from the truth’.

She said in a statement on Saturday that the Commission has instituted an investigation to establish the source of the information and who forged Commission spokesperson Jane Mbambara’s signature.

“The Commission would like to state that preparations for the 2023 teacher recruitment exercise are underway and once concluded, Minister of Education Douglas Siakalima will inform the nation on the modalities of the process,” Walubita stated.

She said the public should exercise patience and wait for official communication as she alerted teachers seeking employment in government to fall prey to imposters and scammers.

Walubita said the Commission does not ask for payment for any of the services offered to the general public.

A statement has been circulating on social media announcing that soon the teaching service commission has started the process of recruiting 4,500 teachers as indicated in the 2023 national budget.
