FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, has reaffirmed FIFA’s commitment to the development of Zambian football following a high-level meeting with Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President, Keith Mweemba in Miami, United States.

Infantino, who visited Zambia in June 2024, praised the country’s enduring passion for the sport and pledged continued collaboration with FAZ to advance football at all levels.

“Zambia has a great passion for football, which I saw during my visit there last year. Today’s meeting with FAZ President Keith Mweemba was an opportunity for me to reaffirm FIFA’s commitment to continue supporting football development,” Infantino stated.

The engagement centred on the FIFA Forward Programme, with both parties agreeing to maximise investment in football infrastructure, technical development, and grassroots initiatives throughout Zambia.

Infantino also lauded FAZ for its proactive participation in the Football for Schools programme, a flagship FIFA initiative aimed at empowering children through sport and education.
