Jay Rox, Tim reignite zone fam nostalgia with ‘Mfumu (Amen)’ collaboration

Jay Rox and Tim have rekindled memories of their Zone Fam days with the release of a spiritually uplifting single titled Mfumu (Amen)—a heartfelt track that has sparked excitement and nostalgia among fans of the early 2010s hip-hop collective.

The duo, once part of the award-winning group Zone Fam, reunite for the first time since their 2017 collaboration Glory.

This new track, produced by Church Ulukuta, blends soulful melodies with gospel lyricism, showcasing a more reflective sound than the high-energy hits that defined their former group.

Jay Rox, born Jackson Ng’ambi, brings in Tim—renowned for his powerful gospel verses—to deliver a message rooted in faith and unity.

The accompanying visuals, directed by Director Cooper, do not feature the other two Zone Fam members, but the release still offers fans a moment of reconciliation and hope.

Over a guitar-led instrumental, the two trade verses with emotional depth, hinting at artistic growth while still honouring their legacy.

Fans reacted emotionally to the song, taking to Jay Rox’s official YouTube channel to share their sentiments.

“Zone Fam all the way. My God heal every person listening to this song,” one fan posted.

Another commented: “Zone Fam fans are heartbroken the more now. Great song just like the old times.”

A third fan added, “Feels like the old times. Take your flowers.”

While it remains uncertain whether the track signals a full Zone Fam reunion, Mfumu (Amen) offers renewed hope to supporters of the Channel O award-winning group.
