Jamie Vardy and Jordan Ayew scored Leicester City’s first home goals in five months to seal a 2-0 win over struggling Southampton at the King Power Stadium.

Vardy, set to leave the club at season’s end after 13 years, struck in the 17th minute with his 199th goal for the Foxes, converting a cross from Bilal El Khannouss.

In a match reported by the Guardian, Ayew doubled the lead just before halftime, pouncing on a rebound from his own blocked free-kick to fire past Aaron Ramsdale.

Southampton have now taken just two points from a possible 33.

Meanwhile, at Goodison Park, Everton let a two-goal lead slip against relegated Ipswich.

Julio Enciso sparked the comeback with a brilliant strike before substitute George Hirst headed home the equalizer late on.

It was another frustrating outing for David Moyes’ side, whose lack of composure and energy after taking the lead allowed Ipswich to snatch a deserved point.
