Masaiti chief bemoans poor road network in province, as govt promises repairs

Zambia ‘s Road Development Agency (RDA) will commence construction of the 15 kilometres Chiwala road in Masaiti district.

Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Minister Charles Milupi said majority of the wealth in the country was on the Copperbelt, which deserved a good road network.

Milupi said when he toured the affected stretch in Ndola rural that the government through the RDA would work on the 15 kilometres Chiwala road on Friday.

“Majority of the wealth in the country was on the Copperbelt which deserved a good road network,” he said.

Milupi and his Transport and Logistics counterpart Frank Tayali also paid a courtesy call on senior chief Chiwala at his palace in Masaiti.

The Minister is on the Copperbelt to check on various roads and bridges so that the Government can appreciate the issues on the ground.

Chief Chiwala bemoaned the poor state of the road network in his Chiefdom and the Province.

He said his Chiefdom was highly industrialised, stating that the efforts were hampered by poor road networK.
