Students at the Copperbelt University (CBU) have reportedly apprehended a 25-year-old man, Clement Bwalya, who is suspected of stealing phones from students.
The suspect was caught after a scuffle at a boarding house, where he allegedly stabbed one student, Justine Musonda, on the nose and upper lip with a knife.
During the altercation, Bwalya also sustained cuts to his upper nose.
According to Copperbelt Police Chief, Peacewell Mweemba, Bwalya attempted to steal phones from students when the incident occurred.

The students raised an alarm, prompting a nearby student and reporter to rush to the scene, where they managed to apprehend Bwalya.
Police arrived shortly after, confirming the details of the incident.
Both Musonda and Bwalya were rushed to Kitwe Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Bwalya is believed to be involved in previous phone thefts at CBU.
The police have opened an investigation into the matter.
