The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has reportedly started receiving the second consignment of 9,500 Health Centre Kits aimed at improving the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies in primary healthcare facilities across the country.
So far, 4,550 kits have reportedly been delivered, while the remaining consignments are expected to arrive in the coming days.
In a statement issued on Thursday, ZAMMSA Senior Officer– Corporate Communications, Enock Lusoke, said distribution of the kits would begin once the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) completed the required quality assurance procedures and issues Certificates of Analysis to confirm the safety, quality, and effectiveness of the medicines and medical supplies.

“Health Centre Kits play a critical role in Zambia’s primary healthcare system by supporting the treatment of common illnesses, maternal and child health services, as well as emergency care in clinics nationwide,” Lusoke said.
ZAMMSA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the timely and equitable distribution of essential medical commodities to enhance access to safe and effective healthcare services for all Zambians.
