Renowned voice over artiste, Lemba, bags Voice Arts Award in US

Renowned voice over artiste, Chilu Lemba, has scooped a Voice Arts Award at a ceremony held in Los Angeles, California.

Lemba won for the second year running.

The media personality grabbed the limelight by winning the Radio Award (Africa).

Lemba took to his official Facebook account to announce the development.

“It was a fantastic night in LA. Viola Davis was gracious in her speech (as expected) having received The Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honour and later, Tisha Campbell Martin took to the stage to present the APEX Award. It was great to see Colman Domingo and Glynn Turnman there. Check out my Instagram Stories for a sneak peak.”

“I took home the Radio Award (Africa) and my colleagues shined in the other categories that we were nominated in. Congratulations to Simon Kennedy (Australia), Afoma Chiegboka and Atibo Onen. Salute to the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences for another successful awards show,” he added.

Different celebrities took advantage of the post by congratulating the veteran voice over artiste.

Legendary Zambian music producer TK, rapper Holstar and veteran dancehall artiste General Ozzy, among dozens of social media users, all took to social media to post congratulatory messages.

Lemba who is also a musician has been the voice of countless radio and television adverts and documentaries around the world for over two decades, most notably for a numerous amount of content on African cable television giant DStv.

The creative first made a name as a radio presenter on Zambia’s first ever privately owned commercial station, Radio Phoenix in the mid 90s.
