President Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to begin a two-day working visit to the Copperbelt Province today, Friday, Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo has confirmed.
Speaking during a media briefing in Ndola on Thursday, Matambo said the President will commission the US$440 million Kafulafuta Dam Water Project in Masaiti District as part of his visit.
President Hichilema is also expected to inspect the ongoing dewatering process at 28 Shaft Mine in Luanshya, and later engage with residents during a public meeting at Mpatamato Grounds.
On Saturday, the Head of State is expected to attend a church service at Mushili Central Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church before proceeding to the ABSA Cup final at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

“We are delighted that the President has expressed his commitment to the Copperbelt Province, referring to it as his second home,” Matambo said.
He added that the Copperbelt Provincial Administration rated the President’s performance “9 out of 10” across various sectors of the economy.
On infrastructure, Matambo assured residents that the collapsed Chifubu Bridge in Ndola would be repaired within 14 days, beginning Friday, following the mobilisation of emergency funds.
