Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Moono Namalongo, has confirmed the death of an American national, Firman Patrick Lawrence, who drowned while rafting on the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls.

According to a police report filed by Obey Hamuchemba, 47, Director at Nyami Nyami Rafting Company, Lawrence was leading a team of 10 paddlers toward Rapid Number 7 when their boat hit a strong wave and flipped.
