PIA demands policy continuity, fair claims settlement from Swift Insurance

0

The Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) has urged Swift Insurance to guarantee continuity of insurance policies, premium payments and claims services following its rebranding from Swan Insurance.

PIA Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Namakau Mundia Ntini, said the company must clearly communicate the transition to existing policyholders to minimise uncertainty and maintain customer confidence.

Her remarks were delivered by Deputy Registrar – Insurance Dr. Brian Manchishi during the official launch of Swift Insurance.

Ntini said the company’s new identity should be reflected in its daily operations through transparency, professionalism and fair treatment of policyholders.

“Speed must be accompanied by sound judgement, and service must be underpinned by integrity. Efficiency should never come at the expense of due diligence, prudent risk management or fair decision-making,” she said.

She also urged the insurer to expand coverage among farmers, small and medium-sized enterprises, underserved communities and informal sector participants through affordable products and consumer education.

Ntini said wider insurance coverage would help protect livelihoods, safeguard investments and support financial inclusion under the Grow Zambia Agenda.

Swift Insurance Chief Executive Officer, Jean Francois Cateaux, said the rebranding was aimed at improving responsiveness and reducing delays in resolving disruptions affecting individuals and businesses.

“Our purpose is to help individuals and businesses shorten the gap between disruption and resolution. That means responding with urgency, communicating clearly and making informed decisions, so our clients can move forward with confidence,” he said.

Cateaux said the company’s brand promise was: “We will not slow you down.”

He said the insurer would be guided by four values: agility, conviction, unity and progress, which would inform its approach to claims management and customer service.
