Airtel Africa has reportedly partnered with SpaceX to roll out Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet services across the continent, in a move aimed at expanding digital access to underserved and remote communities.
The partnership, announced Monday, is expected to strengthen the telecom satellite connectivity offerings by leveraging Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellite technology alongside Airtel’s ground network.
The companies also plan to explore rural cellular backhaul and broader digital inclusion initiatives.
The collaboration is expected to support connectivity in rural schools, health centres, businesses, and socio-economic hubs, helping bridge Africa’s digital divide and drive inclusive economic growth.
