Police in Lusaka have recorded a warn and caution statement from David Kazadi, 33, former Cief Executive Officer of Hot FM, for the offence of obscene matters or things, contrary to Section 177(1)(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Kazadi was apprehended on July 2, 2025, in the Longacres area, according to a statement issued on Friday by Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Chilabi.
According to police, between June 2023 and June 2025, on unknown dates and times within Lusaka District, Kazadi is alleged to have made and produced an obscene video tending to corrupt morals, which was later circulated on various social media platforms.
“Meanwhile, investigations into the matter are ongoing, and the suspect is currently in custody,” Chilabi said.
Following the arrest, Hot FM Zambia Group Chairperson Oscar Chavula confirmed on Wednesday, July 2, that Kazadi had been relieved of his duties as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
Chavula stated that although the company respects the principles of due process and presumption of innocence, the nature of the allegations was in direct conflict with the station’s values as a trusted media institution.

“In line with our internal code of conduct, we have taken this action to protect the integrity of our brand, our staff, and the public we serve,” he said.
He added that Kazadi no longer holds any role within Hot FM Zambia or any of its affiliated entities. Interim leadership has been appointed to ensure continued operations.
“We are fully cooperating with the authorities and remain committed to supporting the legal process as it unfolds,” Chavula said.
He also assured stakeholders that Hot FM Zambia continues to operate normally, with all programming, partnerships, and business activities unaffected.
Chavula thanked listeners, partners, and clients for their continued support and reaffirmed the station’s commitment to ethical broadcasting, transparency, and public accountability.
