Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh has emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Zambia and that country.
President Khurelsukh reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation with Zambia.
The Mongolian leader said this when he recieved Letters of Credence from Zambia’s Ambassador to that country, Ivan Zyuulu at State House in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
This is according to a statement issued in Lusaka on Tuesday by Catherine Kashoti, the Second Secretary for Communications at the Zambian Embassy in Beijing, China, highlighting the outcomes of the ceremony held on April, 21, 2025.
President Khurelsukh expressed confidence that the Ambassador would strive to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with the Republic of Mongolia, and affirmed the full support of the State and Government of Mongolia.
“Mongolia is committed to enhancing cooperation within the international community, including the United Nations and other international organizations,” he assured.

In his response, Zyuulu acknowledged the longstanding warm diplomatic ties between Zambia and Mongolia and called for enhanced collaboration in mining, agriculture, and tourism, sectors crucial to both countries’ economies.
He underscored Zambia’s interest in leveraging Mongolia’s expertise in mineral exploration and sustainable agricultural practices to foster mutual growth.
“I wish to acknowledge the warm relations between the two nations and express my country’s readiness to explore new avenues for collaboration,” Zyuulu said.
