Power Dynamos Football Club has announced the departure of striker Moses Shumah and midfielder Brian Masanyinga, ending their spells at Arthur Davies Stadium ahead of the new season.

Shumah has completed a transfer to South African Premier Soccer League side AmaZulu FC after Power Dynamos reached an agreement with the Durban-based club.

The Kenyan forward had one year left on his contract but opted to make the switch to South Africa, according to a statement issued in Kitwe on Thursday.

Shumah joined Power Dynamos from Kakamega Homeboyz in July 2024 and made an immediate impact.

He won the MTN Super League Golden Boot last season after scoring 21 league goals.

In total, Shumah netted 23 goals in all competitions during his one-year stay with the Kitwe-based club and his goals were key to Power Dynamos’ domestic campaign.

Midfielder Brian Masanyinga has also left the club after securing an opportunity to join the Zambia Police Service.

The club described him as a dedicated member who now embarks on a new career path.

Power Dynamos Chief Executive Officer Gibson Chaloba thanked both players for their service and professionalism during their time at the club.

“Both Moses and Brian have represented Power Dynamos with pride and commitment, and we thank them for everything they have done for the Club,” Chaloba said.

He said Moses had an excellent season for the Club and his goals were a major reason for the success.

“He worked hard, remained focused and has earned this opportunity to take the next step in his career. We are happy for him and wish him all the best in South Africa,” Chaloba stated

He also praised Masanyinga’s contribution and conduct, stating that Brian always gave his best whenever called upon and conducted himself professionally throughout his time at the Club.

“While we are sad to see him leave, we are pleased that he has secured an opportunity with the Zambia Police Service and we wish him success in his new role. They both leave with our thanks and appreciation, and they will always be welcome at Power Dynamos,” Chaloba said.

The departures come as Power Dynamos continues preparations for the upcoming season and its continental assignments and the club said it remains committed to building a competitive squad.
