Opposition All Peoples  Congress (APC) leader, Nason  Msoni, has said the government should put in place ‘survival’ plans to avert the looming hunger in the country.

“Don’t wait for a food crisis before putting contingency measures,” Msoni said.

He said in a statement on Saturday that the government still has  an opportunity to put in measures before the looming hunger occasioned by the mishandling of the agriculture season.

Msoni  said those  in government should  know that  solutions  are not found  in galivanting from one country to another but finding local solutions  so that people  do not starve.

The challenge is that those in government feel the local solutions  are found  in  galivanting, they are ever on the move, they should behave responsibly,” he said.

Msoni said agriculture was the most important and serious matter adding the priority was to avert starvation in the country.
