The United for Better Zambia (UBZ) Party President, Apostle Hector Soondo, has called on Zambians to remain strong, vigilant, and united in the quest to remove what he described as the “failed UPND government” in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

In a statement issued in Lusaka on Sunday, Soondo also expressed concern over the outcome of the recently held Lumezi by-election, alleging serious electoral irregularities.

He claimed that during the mourning period of late President Edgar Lungu and the current UPND administration, ballot papers were suspiciously reprinted overnight, leading to what he termed as a “rigged outcome.”

“We must never allow such injustice to define our democracy,” he said. “The people of Zambia must rise to the occasion in 2026 and teach the UPND government and President Hakainde Hichilema a lesson through the ballot,” Soondo said.

He encouraged all members of the Tonse Alliance and citizens at large not to lose hope but to stay focused and united, stressing the need to prepare adequately for the next elections.

“I urge the people of Lumezi and all eligible Zambians to replace their National Registration Cards (NRCs) if lost, and for those who have never had one to obtain it. This is the first step towards acquiring a voter’s card and participating meaningfully in the 2026 general elections,” Soondo said.

He emphasized that the future of the country rested in the hands of the people and called for renewed efforts to mobilize and build a strong electoral force ahead of 2026.
