Another United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur, this time focusing on freedom of religion, is set to visit Zambia from March 31 to April 11, 2025, to assess the country’s state of religious freedom and belief.
The UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, Nazila Ghanea, would conduct the visit at the invitation of the Zambian government, according to a notice from the UN Human Rights Commission issued on Friday.
“Country visits are undertaken in a spirit of cooperation and constructive dialogue. The objective is for the Special Rapporteur to gain a first-hand understanding of the specific context of freedom of religion or belief in the country,” the notice stated.
