ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) reportedly recorded a 40 percent increase in investment income to K3.4 billion in 2025, driven by higher royalty earnings from Kansanshi and increased dividend income from its investee companies.

The mining and energy investment company said the value of its investment portfolio also rose to US$1.91 billion, while its market capitalisation surpassed US$1 billion in August 2025.

In a statement issued on Thursday to announce that audited results for the year ended 31 December 2025, ZCCM-IH Chief Executive Officer, Kakenenwa Muyangwa, said 2025 was a year of execution as the company focused on converting its strategic investments into consistent cash returns.

“Together with IRH we have advanced approximately US$640 million to Mopani’s recapitalisation and development since our partnership began, and crossing US$1 billion in market capitalisation reflects the market’s confidence in our strategy,” he said.

The company said royalty income from Kansanshi increased to K1.58 billion, equivalent to US$64.5 million, following the commissioning of the S3 expansion project.

Dividend income doubled to K1.57 billion, with ZCCM-IH receiving its first dividends from Maamba Energy amounting to US$39.2 million.

The company also received US$21.2 million in dividends from Copperbelt Energy Corporation.

Muyangwa said the improved investment income demonstrated the company’s growing ability to generate returns from its portfolio.

Meanwhile, ZCCM-IH Board Chairperson, Phesto Musonda, said the 2025 performance reflected the company’s progress in strengthening its portfolio and rebuilding investor confidence.

“A stronger portfolio, growing investment income and renewed confidence among investors and partners. The Board has matched that progress with action, strengthening our financial reporting and controls so that shareholders can rely on timely publication,” he said.

Musonda said the company was looking forward to the restoration of trading in its shares on the London Stock Exchange following the publication of its audited financial statements.

“With these results published, we look forward to the restoration of trading in London and to building on this momentum, for our shareholders and for Zambia,” he said.

ZCCM-IH said the increase in investment income was part of its broader strategy of transforming its portfolio into a stronger source of recurring cash returns while supporting investment in Zambia’s mining and energy sectors.
