Zodwa Khumalo named Best Young Achiever Actress for 2024/2025 at Kigali event

Zambian actress Zodwa Khumalo has been honoured as the Best Young Achiever Actress of the Year 2024/2025 at the prestigious Young Achievers African Awards.

The award recognises not only her on-screen excellence but also her efforts in inspiring a new generation of African creatives.

In recent years, Zodwa has amassed a series of accolades, including Best Emerging Shining Star and Best Actress at the renowned Zikomo Awards, underscoring her versatility and dedication to the craft.

Reacting to the award on her Facebook page on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, which were held in Kigali, Rwanda on Saturday, Zodwa wrote:
“We did it!!! To all who voted, I want to say a big thank you. I’m so grateful and humbled. I wouldn’t have done it without your support.”

She went on to thank those who have shaped her career, including Saulos the Komboni Ambassador, whom she credited with introducing her to the acting industry and guiding her initial steps.

Zodwa also acknowledged Film Director, Owas Ray Mwape for his constant belief in her, saying:
“You once told me that ‘a good attitude will take you to places talent cannot.’”

She further expressed gratitude to Maynard Mwanza Muchangwe, recognising his role in supporting and guiding her acting journey.
