President Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to undertake a one-day working visit to Kasama in Northern Province on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Provincial Minister Leonard Mbao has announced.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Mbao said the President’s visit will highlight the government’s partnership with traditional leadership and showcase key infrastructure projects in the province.
Upon arrival in Kasama, President Hichilema will pay a courtesy call on His Royal Highness, Paramount Chief Chitimukulu, at his palace.
“This visit underscores the government’s continued respect for and collaboration with traditional leadership in fostering development across the country,” Mbao said.
Following the courtesy call, the President will officially open the newly constructed Kasama Mall and the Urban Hotel.
The two facilities have been described as major infrastructure developments aimed at boosting economic activity, job creation and tourism in Northern Province.

Later in the day, the Head of State will engage with community members in an interactive session designed to strengthen government–citizen relations.
The session is expected to address issues affecting residents of the province, who will have an opportunity to raise concerns directly with the President.
Hichilema will conclude his visit with a meeting with party officials at the party secretariat.
Mbao encouraged members of the public to turn out in numbers and accord the President a warm welcome to Kasama.
