Techbytes: Women in Tech Zambia names top 10 for Cohort 6 accelerator

Ten Women-led startups have been selected for the Accelerator Phase of the Women in Tech Zambia Cohort 6 Programme, organisers announced, advancing Zambia’s pipeline of women entrepreneurs preparing for investment.

The selection follows a two-week Boot Camp that trained founders in customer discovery, business model development, financial planning and pitch preparation, ending with an in-person Pitch Day assessed by a panel of judges.

Judges evaluated ventures on business viability, customer validation, financial understanding and pitch delivery before narrowing the field to the Top 10 advancing to the next stage, organisers said in the announcement issued in Lusaka on Saturday.

The Accelerator will run for several weeks and is implemented by Women in Tech Zambia in partnership with the Standard Chartered Foundation and Village Capital.

“Today, we are proud to announce the Top 10 founders advancing to the Accelerator Phase of the Women in Tech Zambia Cohort 6 Programme, which we implement in partnership with the Standard Chartered Foundation and Village Capital,” they said.

The founders selected include Wanji Maluba of Quotify Services Limited, Ellen Nachoombe of Elsati Connect Limited, Adele Makayi of Yellow Ray Digital, Kasongo Nyakaula of Pluntum Enterprise, and Chifula Nambela of Techroots IT Solutions Ltd.

Others include Samukhele Mwase of Cowrie Technology Solutions, Inota Cheta of She Entrepreneur Ltd, Chikombo Chilufya of Likumi Financial Services, Nakubiana Mufaya of Naje Health Limited, and Thokozani Nangwale of Crystal Vision Innovation Ltd.

“Over the next weeks, these founders will participate in an accelerator programme designed to strengthen their investment readiness through mentorship, coaching, peer learning and expert-led sessions covering growth strategy, financial management, technology, impact measurement and fundraising,” organisers stated.

The curriculum targets key gaps that limit women-led businesses from scaling, including access to finance, structured growth planning and measurable impact reporting.

“The programme will culminate in Demo Day later this year, where participants will showcase their progress and compete for equity-free funding to accelerate the growth and impact of their ventures,” organisers said.

All Boot Camp participants were recognised for completing the intensive training, with organisers noting the cohort reflected growing innovation across tech, finance, health and enterprise solutions in Zambia.
